I've thought about starting a blog for about a year now. I finally decided that today was the day to jump in with both feet. After all, my central philosophy in life is to live with gusto and not to be afraid to try new things. So how did I choose my title and web address? If any of you are fans of Garth Brooks, you may recognize the title as part of a verse from Garth’s song, “The River”. I remember exactly where I was the first time that I heard it and it really spoke to me. It reinforced my fervor for living in the moment and enjoying every day to the fullest.
The River, 2nd verse
Written by:
Too many times we stand aside
And let the waters slip away
'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow
Has now become today
So don't you sit upon the shoreline
And say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance the tide.. yes
I look forward to learning and growing with this blog and hope those who choose to come and visit will enjoy their time here.

Wow, YOU have a blog. I'm so impressed! Love the name and concept - it suits you. :o) Joseph's 5th grade class sang this song at their "graduation" - I wonder if he remembers the words? xo. Michley
I love your blog title, came with thought and gusto from wanting to live life. Michelle sent me here and I am glad she did. Love your thoughts. I have a bike and would like to just ride around town, but afraid of getting hit.
